Job Application Events

Shares job application events for applications scored by the evaluate-candidates endpoint.

Job application events provide real-world feedback on which candidates are of interest for a given job posting. This real-world data is used to improve the accuracy of AdeptID’s search and match products. See the Modeling FAQs for details on AdeptID’s approach to modeling.

A job application event is a single action linked to the employer’s application/hiring process, corresponding to a status change in the employer’s hiring workflow. Common job application events might include "Application Submitted", "Resume Review", "Phone Screen", "Interview - Stage 1", "Assessment", "Background Check", "Offer Extended", "Hired", and "Withdrawn".

Hiring processes are highly configurable and can vary significantly between employers, even when using the same Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This flexibility stems from these systems' ability to be customized to an organization's specific recruitment strategies, internal policies, and compliance requirements.

This endpoint is designed to capture the job application event details from both the Partner system (e.g., the host ATS or HCM) and the employer’s workflow. Note that the employer label for a hiring outcome doesn’t necessarily align with the partner label. For example, the employer may have configured “Interview - Stage 1” and “Interview - Stage 2” that each map back to the Partner “Interview” event.

Multiple Job Application Events may be submitted in each call to this endpoint. An HTTP 202 (Accepted) is returned to indicate whether individual outcomes were accepted or rejected for processing. In the event of errors, callers should address and resubmit the rejected events.

Additional Notes:

  • ID Uniqueness: If the same ID is used for multiple jobs, or multiple candidates, in an Evaluate Candidates submission, AdeptID will not be able to attribute Job Application Events to the correct application.
