Enhanced Skill Extraction and Normalization

Overview

AdeptID has released expanded and enhanced skill extraction and normalization capabilities. For over a year, customers have relied on the Extract Skills endpoint to identify and extract Skills and Certifications from free text, such as resumes, job descriptions, and even course syllabi, mapping them to AdeptID’s accepted skills taxonomy for use in search and match workflows.

With this release, AdeptID leverages new advanced in-house models for skill extraction and normalization to power an improved Extract Skills endpoint and a new Normalize Skills endpoint, delivering improved accuracy and flexibility. While Extract Skills provides both extraction and normalization in a single API call, Normalize Skills enables talent organizations to directly map “raw” (previously extracted) skills to a standardized taxonomy, further supporting robust candidate and job data enrichment.

📢

Why did we do this work?

Talent organizations need accurate skill identification and standardization. As skills-based hiring grows, tools that precisely extract and normalize skills to recognized taxonomies are critical. By adding a normalization endpoint and advancing extraction models, we support more use cases and empower talent organizations to build richer, more reliable profiles.

Bottom line

AdeptID’s enhanced skill extraction and normalization capabilities deliver more accurate, reliable, and flexible solutions for building rich candidate and job profiles. These improvements strengthen skills-based search and match workflows, supporting better outcomes for recruiters, employers, and job seekers.
